Protection and Conservation of Energy

Do you want to start being more environmentally conscious this year but don’t know where to start? It’s a good idea to start by learning how to conserve energy.
There are numerous reasons for each of us to understand how to conserve energy. But, before we can give energy conservation the attention it deserves, we must first comprehend what it is.
The practice of recognizing energy waste and taking actions to reduce it is known as energy conservation. Simple measures such as turning off lights when leaving a room, disconnecting appliances when not in use, and utilizing energy-saving equipment and fixtures are examples of these.

Conserving Natural Resources In This Time Of Pandemic

What is natural resources?

Natural resources are materials from the Earth that are used to support life and meet people’s needs. Any natural substance that humans use can be considered a natural resource. Oil, coal, natural gas, metals, stone and sand are natural resources. Other natural resources are air, sunlight, soil and water.

What is the importance of natural resources?

Natural resources are used to make food, fuel and raw materials for the production of goods. All of the food that people eat comes from plants or animals. Natural resources such as coal, natural gas and oil provide heat, light and power. Natural resources also are the raw materials for making products that we use everyday from our toothbrush and lunch box to our clothes, cars, televisions, computers and refrigerators.

During this time of pandemic, we have protocols that we need to follow. Many of us are searching for ways on how to be productive each day while observing those protocols at the same time. Conserving natural resources is one of those ways to be productive. So here are some tips in conserving natural resources during this time of pandemic:

Use Less Water

Using water-saving techniques can save you money and diverts less water from our rivers, bays, and estuaries, which helps keep the environment healthy. It can also reduce water and wastewater treatment costs and the amount of energy used to treat, pump, and heat water.

Follow The Three R’s

The three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. Plus, the three R’s save land and money communities must use to dispose of waste in landfills.

Proper Waste Disposal

Proper waste disposal helps improve air and water quality as well as reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It helps in minimising the extraction of resources along with reducing pollution and energy consumption which is associated with manufacturing new materials

Reforestation

Reforestation is very important to avoid many hazardous effects of soil erosion. Reforestation has the potential of recovering the damaged soil and bringing back the forest to fertile land. Another benefit of reforestation is the revival of watersheds that play a vital role in the environmental balance

Less Consumption Of Electricity

Saving electricity helps to Prevent Greenhouse Emissions. Greenhouse gases are the leading causes of global warming and climate change. These gases are responsible for absorbing the infrared radiation that would lead to holding and trapping the heat in the atmosphere.

In this time of pandemic, economically richer countries tend to spend or waste more natural resources than the poorer countries. With the increase in population, there is a higher demand for natural resources. We must be aware of the ways on how to conserve natural resources. Because in the end of the day, we are the one in need. So stop the stigma and conserve natural resources!
